Honey Butter Chicken Bites – Perfect for enameled cast iron
There's something really special about cooking food in enameled cast iron – and this recipe forHoney Butter Chicken Bitesis no exception. When you use a cast iron pot or pan with enamel, you get even and intense heat that gives the chicken pieces a perfect roasting crust without them drying out.
In this recipe, it's important to heat the chicken pieces quickly to caramelize and seal in the juices. This is where the advantages of cast iron come into play: Enameled cast iron retains heat and doesn't react with the sweet glaze, making it ideal for dishes like this one with both butter and honey.
When the glaze hits the hot pot or pan, it immediately starts to bubble and become lightly caramelized – and because the enamel prevents food from burning, you get a shiny, silky glaze that adheres perfectly to each piece of chicken.
The recipe is also flexible: you can prepare it in aenameled sauté pan, frying pan or pot– depending on what you have in your kitchen. The most important thing is that you choose a good cast iron product with enamel, so you get both functionality and aesthetics in one.
