Rose knivsæt - mål i centimeter

Starter Set (2 knive): Kokkekniv + urtekniv.

Knife set

At Qookware, we have chosen a simple and focused approach to kitchen knives. Instead of many series, we have gathered everything into one well-designed knife series – Rose. Our knife series Roseis created for those who want professional performance, high durability and a timeless design that works in everyday life.

We value quality incredibly highly. That's why we have chosen to have only one simple knife series, namely ourRose knife series. We have put together 4 different knife sets in the series so that they cover most needs.

All the knives in our Rose knife set are made of 67 layers of Damascus steel. This results in a completely unique and breathtaking exterior, but also fantastic cutting ability and long durability.

What is a good chef's knife set?

In our opinion, a good chef's knife set consists of several different kitchen knives, all of which are made of high quality. That is why we often experience that there is the greatest demand among chefs for our Allround or Complete knife sets. In a good chef's knife set, there are several different knives, however, the chef's knife always comes in handy, as does the nakiri knife, as well as a smaller knife. However, most people will prefer a Complete when they need a new chef's knife set, as it contains all the kitchen knives that you could end up needing to use in a kitchen. However, our clear recommendation is always that you choose the chef's knife set that suits you. This is a very personal assessment and we cannot therefore answer 100% on which chef's knife set is right for you. However, we are always ready to give advice and guidance either by phone or email.

A great deal on your next knife set

At Qookware we do not normally offer discounts on either our knife sets or our accessories, however we have chosen to offer a good deal on certain products. We feel that there should be a small "carrot" when buying more than one knife at a time. That is why we choose to offer some extra ordinary deals on our knife sets, where you can save a lot of money if you buy them together rather than separately.

Important things to consider before buying a knife set

It is important to find the right knife set that suits your needs. That is why there are some considerations you should make when choosing a knife set. First, you should consider what type of cooking you do most often. If you are not particularly fond of cooking a lot, or if you still have some old knives that you do not want to part with yet, the two knives in ourStarter Setmaybe enough. If you love to cook, you should do yourself a favor and look at a complete knife set, where you get different knives in different sizes that suit all purposes related to cooking, simple as well as advanced.

Secondly, you need to think about the size of your kitchen and how much storage space you have. If you have a block for your knives or hang them on the wall, you will have room for the larger knife sets as well. Knife blocks and magnets are also products you can buy from us in connection with the purchase of knives.
If you have a small dormitory kitchen, it can be difficult to find space for a complete knife set - Here it would be an advantage to use a magnet and utilize the wall space.

Finally, you need to consider your budget. Quality lasts longer; that's a fact. Many people save on their first purchases, but then come back and buy some of better quality later. They do this because the cheap knife sets are difficult to keep sharp, while the handles of the knives break more easily on the cheap knife sets. Therefore, it can often be worth buying quality knives in the first place. Knives are something you use every day, and are therefore not a kitchen tool that is hidden or forgotten in the cupboard.

What knives should you look for when buying a knife set?

It is always a good idea to have a set that consists of at least three basic knives: a Gyuto chef's knife, a small herb knife and a Nakiri vegetable knife. The All-round Setcontains all the knives - and a bread knife. That's why we highly recommend this to anyone who cooks - regardless of their level of cooking.

In addition, there are many other types of knives that can be beneficial to have in your set. For example, a Santoku knife. A Santoku knife is an Asian knife that is intended for many different purposes, and thus a good all-round knife. It is typically around 32cm, thin and light. The Santoku knife is ideal for dicing and chopping, and can therefore be compared to the Western all-round knives, better known as chef's knives.

The utility knife is ideal for small tasks where a chef's knife or a paring knife is too big or too small. The blade has a perfect length of 13.5 cm, and with its good balance it is ideal for many different tasks. For example, tasks that require high precision, such as cutting fish or slicing pork.

When it comes to bread knives, many people think that you can save on quality. But a high-quality bread knife stays sharp for much longer and makes it easier for you to cut through crusty bread without tearing the bread. We highly recommend the bread knife from Rose Series, and can be found in, among other things,The Complete Set. This beautiful bread knife has a 24 cm blade, making it perfect for large loaves of bread and melons. It is made of durable 67-layer carbon steel with a core of VG-10 steel and forged using the Damascus method and has a serrated blade that can quickly cut even the most crispy bread and melons. It also has a comfortable soft-grip handle that makes it easy to control.

Professional Damascus steel knife sets for all tasks in a kitchen

It's worth its weight in gold to have a good Damascus steel knife set in your kitchen! Especially if you like to cook, it's definitely important to have the right knife for the job. A good knife set just provides a better user experience and makes the job in the kitchen easier. Then you always have the right knife for the job, which makes the result nicer and the whole process easier. Some knives are better suited for certain tasks than others:

The most important knives you should buy for your kitchen are good all-purpose knives such as a chef's knife and a good vegetable knife. With a good all-purpose knife you can get around most tasks in a kitchen. However, a good bread knife is also indispensable if you bake a lot of bread or if you have to cut vegetables and cut fruits with hard skins.

With a small knife set consisting of two knives or three knives, you are well on your way, but if you want to make sure you have knives for every situation in your kitchen, then you need to have a knife set with four knives, five knives or six knives. Here you also get a herb knife and bread knife to complete your set.

How to store your knife sets

If you have a knife set, it is important to store it in a safe place. This is to ensure that the knives do not get damaged and that they are not dangerous to have lying around. Here are a few tips on how to store your kitchen knives:

- We recommend hanging your knives on a knife magnet on the wall or storing them in the included protective pouch. This will protect the knives from damage and will also keep them sharp for longer.

- Make sure the knives are dry when you put them away. Moisture can cause some handles to become ugly over time.

- Keep all knives out of the reach of children. Children can be injured if they handle knives incorrectly.

One last tip: Don't forget to sharpen your knives regularly! A sharp knife is a safe knife. A dull knife is a dangerous knife because it is more likely to slip and cut you. That's why it's important to keep your knife blades sharp so they are as safe as possible.

Frequently asked questions about buying knife sets

We love talking to our customers and always encourage you to contact us if you have even the slightest question! Below we have tried to answer some of the frequently asked questions when purchasing knife sets.

Is it necessary to have a complete Damascus steel knife set with many knives?

No, it is not necessary to have a knife set with many knives. A good chef's knife and a good vegetable knife are the most important knives to have in the kitchen. But a bread knife, a herb knife and a utility knife can also be very useful to have in your kitchen.

Can you buy all types of knives in a knife set individually?

Yes, you can buy all types of knives in one of our knife sets separately. But by buying a complete knife set you can save a lot of money. Then you can always supplement by buying one more knife if you choose a smaller knife set.

How long does a Damascus steel knife set last?

A Damascus steel knife set has a long lifespan, as it is made of a very durable material. Of course, it has a lot to do with how good you are at taking care of your things. But they usually say that if you choose Damascus steel, you have a faithful companion for many, many years! That is why you often see professional chefs using this type of knife set.

What is Damascus steel?

Damascus steel is the result of a very unique forging method. The result is a durable, hard and beautiful steel variety that is often used for knife blades. Damascus steel knives are made using a special forging method, where many thin layers of steel are forged together. In our kitchen knives, for example, there are 67 layers of high-quality Damascus steel!

What are the benefits of owning a Damascus knife set?

There are many benefits to owning a Damascus knife set. First of all, the knives are incredibly sharp. Second, Damascus steel typically reaches a hardness of around 60-62 HRC, making it ideal for use in knives as it can hold its edge for a long time. This is why Damascus steel knives are often used by professional chefs who need a knife that can withstand a lot of wear and tear.

In addition, you own a very nice knife set! The many layers of different types of steel after the forging process give the knives a breathtaking pattern, which you can also see in the pictures.

What is the best way to care for my Damascus knife set?

Damascus steel knives should never be put in the dishwasher! The best way to care for your Damascus knife set is to wash them by hand and dry them thoroughly after each use. You should also store them in a safe place where they are not exposed to moisture and wear on the blade or handle. We recommend using a knife magnet for the wall so that it hangs securely in the kitchen.

Should I choose a stainless steel knife set or a Damascus steel knife set?

With us you don't have to choose between stainless steel or not, because our quality knife sets have both stainless steel and Damascus steel in them. Among the 67 different layers of steel, our Damascus steel knives are mixed with stainless steel in the forging process. Stainless steel is a very durable material, and therefore stainless steel is a good thing to have in the mix. This helps to make all the knives extra hard and more resistant to rust.

Should I sharpen my knives before use?

No, you do not need to sharpen Damascus steel knives before use. We recommend that you sharpen your knives every few months to avoid unnecessary wear on the blade.

We also advise against using a knife sharpener where you pull the blades through. Instead, we recommend using a diamond sharpening steel, a ceramic sharpening steel, or a sharpening stone.

Do you sell Japanese knives?

Our entire range consists of knives inspired by Japanese knives. This means that they are made using the same methods, but are not produced in Japan. That is why we will not call our knives "Japanese knives", but as close to a Japanese knife set as you can get. It is like champagne is not champagne if it does not come from the Champagne region in France. That is why our knives are not Japanese knives, but they are made based on the principles used for knives in Japan.

Which handle should I choose for my knife set?

OurRose knife serieshas a design-patented handle in rosewood.

Can't I just buy a cheap knife set?

Yes, you can. But you also get what you pay for when you buy a cheap knife set. It's hard to find a good, cheap knife set. The blades in the cheap knife sets have a hard time staying sharp.
