North Jutland entrepreneurs with an interest and passion for cooking and good cookware

Originally, Qookware was started back in 2019, but under a different name. To start with, the company was called Qknives and the primary focus was on high-quality knives. However, it turned out that we would eventually change this name, but retain our recognizable 'Q' and add even more quality products to our range.

Back in 2019, we, Mike Horup and Mathias Lydersen, chose to start a business where the quality of the products and customer service would be paramount. We did this even though neither of us had a background in the world of cooking, or any experience in running our own business. Nevertheless, we have both always had a great passion for good food and cooking in general, as well as an interest in entrepreneurship. We both walked around with a little amateur chef hidden in our stomachs and love to cook for ourselves and friends. The only thing that could irritate us was the mediocre tools that we both had at home, and we therefore got the idea to go hunting for some better gear. However, we quickly found out that with our SU budget, we didn't get very far when it comes to high-quality kitchen knives, frying pans or other kitchen equipment.

It was here that we got the idea that we could create quality products that were actually affordable and where price and quality were linked.

This was the starting point for a really good collaboration, where there was a focus on both North Jutland values, camaraderie, business acumen and a huge portion of passion for good cookware and entrepreneurship.

Our goal was clear from the start. We wanted to create a North Jutland company where we could offer other like-minded people the same quality products that we ourselves appreciate. The easy solution would have been to start selling other people's knife brands. However, we did not choose this and instead we wanted to rely 100% on our own abilities to develop our own products. That is why we chose from the very beginning to only sell our own products. This has meant that we have both personally tested and tried every single one of our products. But also had incredibly skilled and competent professionals and partners to test and stress test them. This means that we can stand 100% for everything we sell on our site. Therefore, all of our products are not only top quality, but we also have the opportunity to provide the best possible guidance and advice.
